In the book 1984 a lot of things are happening. Winston is breakings rules. Then he meets Julia and they fall in love. Next Winston and Julia both break the rules by having sex and sneaking around and having a relationship. Then both Julia and Winston join the Brotherhood. Which fights against Big Brother.

So the theme of the story so far is forbidden love. The reason is forbidden love is because Winston and Julia fall in love. Falling in love is breaking the rules there. So the arrange secrete meetings. So everything they do is to see each other.

Then O’Brien asks them if they want to join the brotherhood. Then they agree because they want to be together. Then O’Brien acts them they have to perform acts of terrorism and kill people. Then they say yes and the say they are unwilling to separate from one another. So that is what O’Brien tells them.

The Theme so far 1984 is are risks. The reason I chose the word risks as my theme for 1984 is because everything that Winston and Julia are dangerous. They are breaking all the laws The Party create to get their freedom and to be together. If they are caught they would be tortured and likely killed for disobeying the Party. By sneaking around and having sex is risked their lives.
O'Brien asks Winston and Julia if they are prepared to commit murder, gives their lives, betray their country and prepare to cheat and to blackmail. They are willing to anything to get their freedom and be togther. To join the Brotherhood they have to alter their pysical appearence. O'Brien said to join the Brotherhood they have to act and be different people from now on.
The only thing that Winston and Julia are not willing to do is be separted from each other. The would everythhing that was requied of them except that . They really love to commit terrorism and betray their country among other thing and the only thing they are unwilling to do is be separted from one another.

Too much went on in the book, "1984". Winston is basically trapped in this hell whole he calls home. He works there and he lives his own life with rules to follow. Being that he is apart of the Party, there are rules for him. He cant live his life how he wants to live it.

The story was designed to notice that Western Nation is still unsure about how to approach the rise of communism. In 1984, rukes are thrown are everyone. They are forrbiden to do so much stuff that its like they are trained and are pets. Love is one thing that they can not do. That will be considered him breaking a rule. A grown man with rules? Pretty stupid to me.

O'Brein asks Wintson and Julia are they willing to join the brotherhood. Just like Winston, he totally against the Party and he hates it. He gives Wintson a copy of the mainfesto of the Brotherhood. After that all is said and done, the Thought Police barges in where Winston is reading the book and they take him away , torn from Julia, to a place called Minstry of Love. Wintson do, at the end of the day, winds up getting in trouble.

Courage-the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc. Rebellion-resistance to or defiance of any authority, control, or tradition. Determination- the decision or settlement arrived at or pronounced. When people are determined to do something the courage rises within them. I believe what Winston and Julia are doing is out of rebellion and love for what they believe in.

So far in "1984" Winston and Julia finally profess their love for one another and are basically sneaking around just to hide their sexually intense love. O'Brien testes thier faith in the brotherhood. He askes them are they ready to give their lives, commit murder, betray their country their country to foregin powers. They agreed to every word. Then he askes," Are you prepared to cheat, to forge, to blackmail, to corupt the minds of children, to distribute habit-forming drugs, to encourage prostitution, to disseminate verneral diseases-- to do anything which is likely to cause demoralization and weaken the power of the Party?" And once again they agreed.

The things they must face while being apart of the brotherhood are very unusual in my opinion. They are willing to give up their identity and live out the rest of their life as a waiter or dock worker. They must be willing to commit suicide. They must be willing to sperate and never see one anther again. But Julia Said No and Winston agreed. Ususual Right?

The current theme of 1984 is Winston finds a girls called Julia and thy fall in love and by that they break of the rules by having sex and been in a relationship but no one knows their in a relationship but O'Brien. At the begin Winston through Julia the dark-haired girl was human creature, in pain and perhaps with a broken bone he through and when he looked at her he fail in love with her.
O'Brien asked both Winston and Julia what they were willing to do for the brotherhood and they agree to join the brotherhood, so O'Brien asked them to perform a act of terrorism and kill people but because they don't want to be away from each other, they agree again to do what O'Brien wanted them to do, and thats the one thing they were unwilling to be not to be apart from each other.

For this weeks question we had to identify what we felt the theme of theses chapters is. I feel that the theme of the chapters is rebellion. I chose this theme because pages 105-201 speak on a lot of rule breaking. Winston and Julia break the rules by having sex and the Brotherhood goes against everything Big Brother stands for. So to me the perfect theme is rebellion because all these people are displaying rebellious behaviors.

To me Julia and Winston desire the same thing. They both desire to have sexual intercourse with someone of the opposite sex. Julia has found her way to do it and has brought Winston into her little circle of sex buddies. This is a form of breaking the rules, thus displaying rebellious behavior against Big Brother. By keeping this sexual relationship alive and renting a room on top of Mr. Charrington’s they are at high risk of getting caught.

O’ Brien is very blunt when Julia and Winston come to see him. He asks them what they are prepared to do. They tell him that they are prepared to do anything they’re capable of. Julia and Winston where prepared to commit gruesome acts ranging all the way from murder, to encouraging things that went against the party, and even killing innocent people. The one thing they wouldn’t do is separate and never see one another ever again. O’ Brien tells them that they will sometimes face being captured and that they should confess because that is the only thing they could do in that situation. He also says that they will sometimes have to do things without knowing why but they should just follow orders and be obedient.

1984, is a mystery book. Winston life is really hell. Like seriously, is like a little kid that has to obey rules in the house. Just that he is a grown man but he has to obey the rules of his country.

He falls in love with this women name Julia. Love is prohibited in his life. THey are not spoused to love no one. They sneaky, and they end up having sex. What ever happens between them would stay between them. No one knew about them two.

O'brien end up joining the brotherhood. They didnt wanted to be seperate from one another. So they decided to do anything they said to be together. They are unwilling to be without together. They decided to kill people because thats what they have to do. And so they did that because they want to be together.

A theme for the chapter I just read would have to be insubordination. Winston Smith obviously has had enough. He is fed up with the rules of the party the way the party is run and he does something to extremly infuriate the party in my eyes. The chapeter speaks much on insubordinate and disobiedent behaviors. In which Winston find suitable behavior but the Party thinks otherwise.

One broad detail that stood out to me was Winston having sex with a party member Julia. With the actions of the two they are aware that consequences may follow. They both felt the urge to have sexual intercourse with the opposite sex. One thing led to another and they ended up having sex. With that the two violtaed one of the party's rules

Another interesting detail in the chapter was O'Brien. O'Brien gets straight to the point and quickly appoints Julia and Winston to do things. Things like killing, betraying and forgeing. Both Julia and Wintston agree and begin the life of sin. For Winston's life is already hell due to big brother and the party. Also they agree to give away their identies and work as low level people which is wildly insane in my eyes. In my eyes this is where the story truly gets good.

1984. It is crazy, how Winston has so many thought about things. A word that I found so far to describe the theme of this book is strict. I think it is strict because you really have to follow and obey the things big brother. If you don’t follow the things that big brother says there are always consequences. Say if your dad didn’t tell you to take out the garbage and you sad ok. But then later on he come back and the trash have not been taken out so by you not doing what your dad said sometimes can be consequences on that topic.

One thing to me that I really cannot understand is love like in this story. Winston found his mate and you can tell when someone like you. In a part of this book it said Julia comes into the room with sugar, that coffee. But as she was putting her make-up on and Winston was overwhelm. That can sometimes be a hint that someone likes you. Also a thing that Winston and Julia did that I will talk about is having sexual intercourse.

True love to me is like Romeo and Juliet there is something similar to. Once they got to meet each other you really couldn’t keep them away. Like 1984 they even joined the brotherhood because they had sexual intercourse. Something that relationships have that I see is that type of bond like if I can’t see my girl today I’m going to go crazy. But the bond that Julia and Winston had was the type of committing suicide just to be with each other. So to me the theme that I thought fit the story so far is strict. Also that you really can’t break true love.

    Open ended Question:

Control- is used in a variety of contexts to express "mastery" or "proficiency". Murder- as defined in common law countries, is the unlawful killing of another human being with intent and generally this state of mind distinguishes murder from other forms of unlawful homicide. Love- is any of a number of emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong affection and attachment. Love is what Winston and Julia have for each other. During this chapter they really express it with each other. To Winston and Julia it’s what’s best for them.

This chapter Winston and Julia have a talk with O’Brien. He tells them are they ready to do all kinds of things that are against the law in present times. He ask them are they ready to do things such as murder, betray their county etc. Winston and Julia agreed with everything, there was nothing else they could do if they had said anything like no or I'm never going to do that most likely they would be killed. Winston and Julia are very smart so they do what they have to do to live life with each other. To join the brotherhood both Winston and Julia have to change the way they look so they won’t be caught.

The theme of this novel right now to me is something a little like Romeo and Juliet which is love. I say it's like Romeo and Juliet because Winston nd Julia are in love but have to keep their relationship a secret. I believe everything is going to turn out good for them at the end. As long as Winston and Julia follow the brotherhood orders everything should be alright. At least thats what I hope, love should keep them together.
