Winston smith was given a briefcase in the previous chapter. The briefcase contained a book that was written stricly describing the party. Winston finally got around to reading the book and it spoke of the theory and practice of oligarchical collectiveism. The book was written by Emmanuel Goldstein. Who explains the theories in divided chapters.
The book is based on rules of the party. One chapter was headed "Ignorance is Strength." Which speaks values in terms of Oceania back in those times. Where rebelling happened and ignorance was allowed and recommended. The book basically speaks of how the term "Ignorance is Strength" developed a theory of social classes. High Class,Middle Class,Low Class etc.
Winston and Julia have stumbled upon some important information which can benefit them. The Muslim conception of slavery and race is also relateable. There was important readings which helped the Muslims develop both slavery and race. This is related because without the important information given to the Muslim they would not develop slavery nor race. In conclusion both Winston/Julia benefited with important reading as did the Muslim with the development of race/slavery.

The book Goldstein was written by Emmanuel Goldstein and it's about the theories in divided chapters. Chapters one "Ignorance is Strength" which talks about the throughout recorded and were the rebelling happened and the ignorance was allowed and recommended. This book is mostly about the three kinds of people in the world.( the high, the middle , and the low class.
The Muslim conception of slavery and race is also relate able and in some where do relates to
Winston and Julia because they are treated just like slaves and they don't really understand why they can't be together. But the Muslim develops both slavery and race.

ReplyDeleteIn the text the on sixth day of Hate Week, it the public found that Oceania was at war. Then Winston was at the demonstration in a central London square. It was night time. Next chaos erupted with the people. Then a stranger slipped a briefcase containing the Book into Winston's hand.
Winston waited until he had fifteen hours off his job. Then he went to the room on top of the junk shop. Then he read the book and it was about what big brother always says “Ignorance is strength” and “War is peace.” This book describes the places of Oceania, Eurasia and Eastasia. It describes the relationship between each other.
Winston and Julia got important information that will help them rebel against Big Brother. The Muslims also received readings. But the readings were to guide them in slavery. This can relate because without the information Winston and Julia would not be able to succeed to rebel and the Muslims would not develop slavery. That is how they relate.

So far in the book "1984" Winston was given Goldstein’s The Theory and Practice of Oligarchical Collectivism,by Emmanuel Goldstein .The book explains that they have been three different types of people;High Class, Middle Class, and Low Class.Winstons starts to read the book to Julia while the books explains high class. Its says that they have more advantages than others, but can be overthrown from their status from the middle class.
WInston and Julia had the book that Emmanuel Goldstein written was an important piece of information. This book would help them rebel against The Party.Just like the same thing the Muslims did to help development of slavery and race. The Muslims created the diferent types of races. Winston also finds out that different types of people.
That is how the experience that Julia and Winston went through are related. They both used important information for their own purpose. The Muslims used infromation they found to create races and slavery. The slaves were treated like prisoners than human beings. The muslims used stereotypes to their advanages. That is how they are related.

This book was written by Emmanuel Goldstein and it was based on important information. This book is about basically division and separation of people. In the first chapter there were so many things going on that doesn’t usually happen in everyday life. Also in this chapter a guy named Winston is the main character that is focused on in the chapter. The reason being is because it is mostly focused on him and big brother and what Winston does to big brother.
This book is also mostly based on control. The reason being is because that’s all that occurs being that big brother tried to rule everybody. It is also based on control because no one couldn’t be together and no one of the opposite sex could be together because of big brother. It also based on control because everywhere you go you had to be in front of the telescreen that big brother had in everyone’s house.
In conclusion, the relationship between Winston and Julia relates to the Muslim concept because in the Muslim concept the opposite sex as will couldn’t be together. It also relates because they both had no privacy and was controlled on everything they did. Being that the Muslim concept focused on racism and Julia and Winston are focused on being controlled. The reason why I say that is because Muslims used information on racism and trying to bring everyone together and Julia and Winston used their information on stopping the controlling that was taken place.

So far in the chapter Winston and Julia are still apart of the brotherhood and O'Brien is still a spy. Julia, Winston, and O'Brien are in the same room and they drink wine like any normal day. Julia leaves but O'Brien and Winston continues their converstation.
Then they talk about Winston's hiding places so the Thought Police will not figure out the secrets of the brotherhood. O'Brien then brings up the topic of "the book" a book written by Emmanuel Goldstein. O'Brien explains to him that he must keep the book to himself and that he must read it and return it in 14 days.Winston then reads the book and it explains what big brother means when he says “Ignorance is strength” and “War is peace.” The book describes the places of Oceania, Eurasia and Eastasia.
The Racist ideologies of the fifteenth-century Ibria grew out of the development of African slavery in the Islamic world as far back as the 18th century. From 711 until their expulsion in 1492, Muslims controlled a significant portion of the Ibreian peninusla. In "1984" Big Brother is in control whereas in Muslim society they are in control. They control a huge portion of both black and white slaves. But eventually they do have their downfall.

In the other chapter Winston received a briefcase; in it held a book that was wrote for the party, which was written by a man named Emmanuel Goldstein. Oligarchical collectivism was the main topic of the book, and was the main plot element of the story. This briefcase was significant because it possessed this book, which was a very important element of the story. And the book was divided in significant chapters.
The book was assorted in different chapters that all explained the high, low and middle classes of society. This book inspired Winston and Julia to rebel against the party. Winston finds out about what the Muslims did about the development of slavery and race, and the different people within a specific race. In this instance Julia and Winston situations and experiences are related because they both used other sources to help themselves and their opinions.
In conclusion, Julia and Winston both prospered better from important readings just like the Muslims outlook on slavery and what they did about it. The information that both parties received were used in the same way. The readings that assisted the Muslims help them develop a slavery and race system, which was used and misinterpreted in further years. They both needed other sources and ideas to do what they did and create systems that could used to help.

The Book Goldstein wrote was written by him Emmanuel Goldstein. This book was based upon the actions of Winston (the main character) and Julia throughout most of the book. It also had important information about how Big Brother had a strong desire to control people’s actions, thoughts, and lives. It also talks about how Winston and Julia wants to rebel against Big Brother because they developed feelings for each other and they want to be together without someone watching them. The basically disobeyed about every rule that Big brother set to keep the different sexes apart, but they broke it to show how they are against everything he say and do.
Winston and Julia came across useful information that can help their rebellion against Big Brother become success and not a waste of time. They are exactly like the Muslims and how they also received information that helped slavery. The only difference between Winston and Julia and the Muslims was that two were rebelling against someone and the Muslims were on the negative side guiding slavery into a full practice. There related in just a few ways but mainly because they found information on what they all were seeking information on. But especially because, the information is used to benefit both parties (Winston and Julia and also the Muslims) to a certain extent, that will get them somewhat successful.
In conclusion, they both relate to each other because no matter what happened you had no privacy what so ever, you were forced to stay separated by sexes and you were not able to have any type of relationship with the opposite sex. The Muslims were in control of both whites and blacks just like how Big Brother was in control of everyone. This book focuses on a lot of things that is important in our history. Slavery made a big change in everyone lives because it helped us realize we can’t always give up when the going get tough. But if slavery did not happened what would life be like today in 2009.

ReplyDeleteI believe that Big Brother wrote the book that Winston was reading. This book describes in detail the way society is really suppose to be through the eyes of a rebel. The book is written according to the beliefs and feelings of Emmanuel Goldstein, which is supposed to be the founder of the Brotherhood. The book explains how the High, Middle, and Low classes were really the basis of this time period. The book said that all men were equal and that in order for you to get something someone else has you have to work just like they did to get. I believe this book was used as a trap in order to catch people who were conspiring against Big Brother.
Winston and Julia were going through a rebellious stage. In order for them to get to this stage they had to have something to rebel against. In the book Big Brother is like this big organization or group f people who boss others around. The people they tell what to do are depicted as being less of a person then the members of the Party. Now the Party members also get treated better than everybody in lower divisions.
The story and the packet relate because in the packet they talk about slavery and race and how it all began. In the packet it says that the word race was used when describing someone of a different culture or skin color. Now slowly the Europeans depicted themselves as white. Doing this is just like Big Brother depicting itself as superior. Then you had Indians and Blacks were at the bottom of this social tree. Now Blacks in the packet were like the normal people in the story. Both groups occupied the lowest possible rank and were made to do long tedious work under harsh conditions. Big brother and the Europeans were very much alike because they both occupied the top position and made their own rules and everyone else had to follow them unless they wanted to face dire consequences.

The person that got accounted for writing the book Goldstein’s was, Emmanuel Goldstein’s. What he explained in his book is the body of rules, ideas, principle, and techniques that applies to a subject. What that is called is a theory. So Emmanuel explained different theory’s that dwelt with his time. The book that Emmanuel wrote talks about the three different classes.
The experience that Winston and Julia had was hard for them. They were asked if they we able to separate and Julia answered and said no. But they didn’t want to hear her response so they waited for Winston to give his and then he did. I guess that they couldn’t under stand that they couldn’t be together but they still do anyway and that’s when slavery probably kicked into their head. So I really do think that this coincides with the Muslims.
The way that this coincides with Muslim Winston and Julia is by the way that you couldn’t spend time really with the opposite sex. Something that Winston and Julia try to do is opposed and goes against BIG BROTHER. BIG BROTHER is just like any form of political power it try to control everyone and everything around it. Everyone that read this book knows that BIG BROTHER wants to control every single move some one makes. Like Muslims the way that they had slavery they also controlled whites. So Emmanuel Goldstein’s wrote the book Goldstein’s. The Muslims and Winston and Julia has a lot in common to me.
